Asperger’s syndrome is a developmental disorder that is within the autism spectrum of disorders. Within this disorder you will find that the normal abnormalities and differences that they display within social interactions and they will invade and take over most of their normal functions. There are many symptoms that can be associated with Asperger’s disorder, and one of them is social interaction. They do not have the normal faculties that can let them function normally in social situations. They are unable to maintain and make friends because they do not have the ability to be socially spontaneous and communicate their desires. Examples of these would be their inability to make eye contact with one another, the inability to read facial expressions and inability to gesture.

The best way to describe them would be like the reactions of a mannequin or a robot, which would lend them to being stiff and unable to react like a normal human being. Like autism patients, they also form a deep social bond with their care givers and sometimes cannot operate when outside that very protective circle that they have formed on their own. They often need these people to be very close to them to function at their normal capabilities and when they are not around, they either shut down completely or go into fits of crying. When expanding on the topic of social interaction, they have a very roundabout way of introducing themselves, and often take a very long winded and complicated way to introduce themselves. They also have very restricted and practice repetitive behaviour, much like those who suffer from autism and they stick to routines which can last for hours.

Some patients with this condition will fixate on a subject, a topic or an activity for hours on end and sometimes, they cannot be taken away from it because they have fixated on it for such an extended period of time. Also, they will show interest for the most strangest of things, and once they express this interest, they will find out all they can about it. Another thing that can impede the normal life of a child of course if the developmental side of the disorder, which prevents the child from developing their speech and language capabilities. These are the very basics of communication that should be available to all children and Asperger’s prevents them from developing them normally.

When looking at the mechanics of speech, intonation, syntax and enunciations, children with this condition may not be able to develop them properly. Now, to prevent all this and provide them with the therapy needed to get them a normal life, you need to get your child to a child psychologist as soon as possible. With quick action, they can attend the necessary classes and the therapies to help them to achieve a normal life. It is never too late when talking about this sort of developmental disorders and all you need to do is to spot it early.
